Suction and Discharge Valves

Air Compressor Suction and Discharge Valves

We are wholesale supplier of air compressor suction and discharge valves of screw compressor and reciprocating compressor for Atlas Copco, Chicago Pneumatic, Kaeser, ELGI, Ingersoll Rand and Kirloskar make compressors, located in Delhi (India).

Suction Valve

  • The suction valve, also known as the intake valve, is responsible for allowing atmospheric air to enter the compressor cylinder during the suction stroke.
  • It opens when the pressure in the cylinder falls below the atmospheric pressure, allowing air to flow into the cylinder.
  • Once the cylinder pressure reaches a certain level, the suction valve closes to prevent air from escaping back into the intake manifold.

Discharge Valve

  • The discharge valve, also referred to as the delivery valve, is responsible for releasing compressed air from the cylinder to the receiver or downstream system.
  • It opens when the pressure in the cylinder exceeds the pressure in the receiver or downstream system, allowing compressed air to flow out.
  • After the compression stroke, as the piston begins its downward movement, the discharge valve closes to prevent air from flowing back into the cylinder.

These are typically designed to operate efficiently and reliably under varying conditions to ensure proper compression of air or gas. The design and configuration of valve can vary depending on the type of air compressor (e.g., reciprocating, rotary, centrifugal) and its specific application. Regular maintenance and inspection of valves are essential to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the compressor system.
